Acoustic Breath Detection and Classification: Modeling Respiratory Events

چکیده

A continuation of research into modeling airway events of patients undergoing sedation is described. Sounds recorded at the trachea were recorded and separated by means of a threshold algorithm. The threshold was determined by the expectation maximization algorithm on filtered data. A comparison between the respiratory rate of the threshold algorithm and that of the direct airflow measure is done. Classification of the audio airway events is discussed using both Neural Networks and Polynomial Classifiers. Future work will be discussed

Analysis and Automatic Detection of Breath Sounds in Unaccompanied Singing Voice

This paper presents a dual approach to the study of breath sounds in singing, consisting of an acoustic analysis of breath sounds, and development of an automatic breath detection system. Previouswork on automatic breath detection were based on relatively simple features that were postulated to be relevant to the detection. In contrast, this study starts with a detailed acoustic analysis of bre...

Apnea Detection based on Respiratory Signal Classification

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is the most common form of different types of sleep-related breathing disorders. It is characterized by repetitive cessations of respiratory flow during sleep, which occurs due to a collapse of the upper respiratory airway. OSA is majorly undiagnosed due to the inconvenient Polysomnography (PSG) testing procedure at sleep labs. This paper introduces an automated ap...

Discrimination of Golab apple storage time using acoustic impulse response and LDA and QDA discriminant analysis techniques

ABSTRACT- Firmness is one of the most important quality indicators for apple fruits, which is highly correlated with the storage time. The acoustic impulse response technique is one of the most commonly used nondestructive detection methods for evaluating apple firmness. This paper presents a non-destructive method for classification of Iranian apple (Malus domestica Borkh. cv. Golab) according...

Acoustic detection of apple mealiness based on support vector machine

Mealiness degrades the quality of apples and plays an important role in fruit market. Therefore, the use of reliable and rapid sensing techniques for nondestructive measurement and sorting of fruits is necessary. In this study, the potential of acoustic signals of rolling apples on an inclined plate as a new technique for nondestructive detection of Red Delicious apple mealiness was investigate...

Techniques for Apnoea Detection

Sleep apnoea is the most common form of different types of sleep-related breathing disorders. It is characterized by repetitive stoppage of respiratory flow during sleep. This paper discusses an approach towards identifying the presence of sleep apnoea based on the acoustic signal of respiration. Different techniques for apnoea detection are discussed in this paper. The characterization of brea...
